Prevention of H1N1/Swine Flu

Swine flu is a respiratory disease that results from an influenza A virus. It affects both pigs and humans. The best way of dealing with H1N1 virus is to prevent it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends annual flu vaccination for everyone age 6 months or older. 

Getting a yearly flu vaccination is the best way to prevent swine flu. Here are some tips to prevent swine flu are:

a. Avoid contact with other people.
b. Do not go to work or school if you are experiencing flu symptoms.
c. Cover the mouth with a tissue while coughing or sneezing. If not, cover the mouth and nose with your hand or crooked arm.
d. Put your used tissues in a trash can.
e. Wash your hands and face regularly.
f. Keep all surfaces that you touch clean.
g. Follow all doctors’ instructions.
